Fire Hydrant Flushing July 27-July 31, 2026

Hydrant flushing will take place July 27th - July 31st. Residents may experience low water pressure and/or disclored water. Annual fire hydrant flushing is an essential part of maintaining water quality, ensuring proper system flow, and verifying the operation of the hydrants.

MONDAY, 7/27-Hill Section of Turners Falls TUESDAY, 7/28-Downtown Turners Falls, the Patch & Montague City WEDNESDAY, 7/29-Millers Falls THURSDAY, 7/30- Lake Pleasant FRIDAY, 7/31-Industrial Boulevard

Water Service Line Inventory

The Turners Falls Water Department is required to develop a materials inventory of all water service lines served by TFWD. Service lines are the pipes that connect the water main in the street with the pipes in your home. Piping has a section from the main to the curb box (TFWD side) and a section from the curb box to the structure (Resident/Private side). Letters were sent this summer asking for the public's help in identifying service lines. Our initial inventory was completed in October 2024. Additional letters will be mailed to those properties with incomplete data within the next month.

The TFWD's water service line inventory is a requirement of the U.S. Environmental Protection (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule Revision. This initial inventory can be viewed in our office Monday - Thursday 8:30-4:30 and Friday 8:00-3:00.
