8/3/2022 We have received an inquiry regarding a text message received about the town's water being contaminated. This is a spam message and there is no reason to be concerned about our drinking water.
The Turners Falls Water Department is requesting their customers take part in voluntary water restrictions due to the dry conditions in the area. Outdoor water use should be limited and take place before 9am and after 5pm. At the present time our water supply shows no imminent sign of being at risk. We will continue to monitor water levels and will advise if further conservation measures are needed.
The Turners Falls Water Department is committed to providing a safe and reliable supply of high quality drinking water to its customers. Our water provided meets and often exceeds all State and Federal Standards set for quality and safety.
Our commitment does not stop once the water comes out of the faucet. Throughout the year, you may have questions about rates, leaks, water facts or conservation. Our staff can assist with all these questions.
The Water Department feels it is vital to educate all members of our community on conserving and protecting our water supply. Pamphlets and educational materials are available at our office.
